Removing Contractors
Remove a contractor from an event while preserving their work history.
Sometimes you need to remove a contractor from an event — they may have finished their portion of the work, been reassigned, or joined by mistake. Signplanr handles removal as a soft operation so you never lose work history.
Organiser: removing a contractor from an event
- Open your event and click the Contractors tab.
- Find the contractor you want to remove.
- Click the three-dot menu next to their name.
- Select Remove from Event.
- Confirm the removal.
The contractor immediately loses access to the event. They no longer see it in their contractor app.
Organiser: removing a contractor from your organisation
To remove a contractor from all events in your organisation:
- Go to Organisation Settings > Members.
- Switch to the Contractors tab.
- Find the contractor and click Remove from Organisation.
This removes them from every event and clears their organisation roster entry. If you invite them again in the future, they will go through the full invitation acceptance flow.
Contractor: leaving an event
Contractors can also remove themselves from an event:
- Open the event in the contractor app.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Leave Event.
- Confirm the action.
Leaving an event removes access and sign assignments. The contractor remains in the organisation's roster, so they can be quickly re-added to other events by the organiser.
What gets preserved
Removing or leaving does not delete any work:
- Photos they uploaded remain attached to the signs.
- Status changes they made are preserved in the sign history.
- Comments they left on signs stay visible.
This means your audit trail and installation records remain intact.
Removing a contractor from a single event does not affect their access to other events in your organisation. Only "Remove from Organisation" revokes all access.
Re-adding a removed contractor
If a contractor was removed from a single event, the organiser needs to send a fresh email invitation for that specific event.
If a contractor was removed from the organisation, they go through the full invitation flow again (email → accept). Once they accept, they rejoin the organisation roster and can be auto-added to future events.
