Understanding User Roles

Learn the difference between Owner, Admin, Member, and Contractor roles in Signplanr.

Signplanr has two types of roles: organisation roles (for your internal team) and the contractor role (for external installers).

Organisation roles

RoleDescription
OwnerFull control over the organisation. Can manage billing, delete the org, and do everything an Admin can. One owner per organisation.
AdminCan create and manage all events, invite team members, and manage sign types. Cannot manage billing or delete the org.
MemberCan create events and manage events they're involved in. Cannot invite team members or manage org-level settings.

Contractor role

Contractors are external users invited to specific events. They:

  • See only the events they're invited to.
  • Can view assigned signs (or all signs, depending on event settings).
  • Upload installation photos and update sign statuses.
  • Cannot access organisation settings, billing, or other events.

A person can be both an organiser (team member) on some events and a contractor on others if they belong to different organisations.
