Understanding User Roles

Learn the difference between Owner, Admin, Member, and Contractor roles in Signplanr.

Signplanr has two types of roles: organisation roles (for your internal team) and the contractor role (for external installers).

Organisation roles

| Role | Description | |------|-------------| | Owner | Full control over the organisation. Can manage billing, delete the org, and do everything an Admin can. One owner per organisation. | | Admin | Can create and manage all events, invite team members, and manage sign types. Cannot manage billing or delete the org. | | Member | Can create events and manage events they're involved in. Cannot invite team members or manage org-level settings. |

Contractor role

Contractors are external users invited to specific events. They:

  • See only the events they're invited to.
  • Can view assigned signs (or all signs, depending on event settings).
  • Upload installation photos and update sign statuses.
  • Cannot access organisation settings, billing, or other events.

A person can be both an organiser (team member) on some events and a contractor on others if they belong to different organisations.
