Placing Signs on Maps
Click on a map to place sign pins exactly where each sign should be installed.
Placing signs on a map gives contractors a visual reference for where each sign should be installed. You drop pins on the map and link them to signs from your event's sign list.
How to place a sign
- Open your event, click the Maps tab, and select the map you want to work with.
- The map editor opens. Click the Place Sign button in the toolbar (or press P).
- Click on the map at the exact location where the sign should go. A pin appears.
- A panel opens showing your unplaced signs. Select the sign you want to assign to this location.
- The pin updates to show the sign number. Repeat for additional signs.
You can also place a sign by dragging it from the sidebar sign list directly onto the map.
Moving a pin
If a pin is in the wrong spot, click on it to select it, then drag it to the correct position. The sign keeps its link — only the coordinates change.
Rotating a sign
Each sign marker is a small rectangle. The bottom edge represents the wall or mounting surface — the sign faces outward from that edge. To set the orientation:
- Drag the rotation handle — select a sign, then drag the small circle above it to rotate freely. Hold Shift while dragging to snap to 15° increments.
- Keyboard — with a sign selected, press [ or ] to rotate ±15°, or Shift+[ / Shift+] for ±45°.
- Sidebar input — enter an exact angle (0–359°) in the rotation field in the sidebar.
Duplicating a sign on the map
If you need a second sign that's nearly identical to one already on the map (same type, dimensions, instructions, artwork), use Duplicate instead of starting from scratch:
- Click on the existing sign's pin to select it.
- In the sidebar, click Duplicate (or press Cmd/Ctrl+D).
- The new sign is created on the same map and the editor immediately enters place mode for it. A banner reads "Click on the map to place sign #N".
- Click on the map where the duplicate should go. The new pin drops at that spot.
The duplicate inherits the source sign's name (with (copy) appended), type, dimensions, custom fields, and all faces with their artwork. The sign number is auto-generated, status starts as pending, and a fresh QR code is created. See Duplicating signs for the full list of what's copied vs. reset.
Hit Esc during placement to cancel — the duplicate stays in your sign list as unplaced and you can drop it later.
Removing a pin from the map
To remove a sign's map placement without deleting the sign itself:
- Click on the pin to select it.
- Click the Remove from Map button (or press Delete).
The sign remains in your event's sign list but no longer has a map position. You can re-place it at any time.
Signs on multiple maps
A sign can only be placed on one map at a time. If you move a sign to a different map, its previous placement is removed automatically.
