Every change to a sign is recorded automatically. Signplanr tracks field-level edits so you can see exactly what changed, who changed it, and when.
Where to find edit history
- Open your event and go to the Signs tab.
- Click a sign to open its detail page.
- Click the History tab.
You see a chronological list of every edit, from the most recent change at the top to the original creation at the bottom.
What is tracked
Each history entry shows:
- Timestamp — the date and time of the change.
- User — the name of the person who made the change.
- Field — which field was modified (e.g. "instructions", "sign_number", a custom field name, or "status").
- Old value — what the field contained before the change.
- New value — what the field was changed to.
Status changes, custom field updates, instruction edits, and sign number changes are all captured. Artwork uploads and replacements also appear as entries in the history.
Edit history is read-only. You cannot modify or delete history entries. This ensures the audit trail stays reliable.
Using edit history
- Resolve disputes — if a contractor says instructions changed after they started work, check the history to confirm when the edit happened.
- Track progress — review how a sign moved through statuses and who triggered each transition.
- Quality control — spot unintended changes early by reviewing recent edits across your signs.
