Switching Organisations
Use the org switcher to move between organisations you belong to.
If you belong to more than one organisation, you can switch between them without logging out. Everything in Signplanr is scoped to your active organisation, so switching changes what you see across the app.
How to switch organisations
- Look at the org switcher at the top of the sidebar. It shows the name of your current active organisation.
- Click the org switcher to open a dropdown of all organisations you belong to.
- Select the organisation you want to switch to.
The org switcher is a clickable dropdown only when you belong to more than one organisation. If you belong to a single organisation, the sidebar simply shows its name as a label.
The page reloads and you see the Dashboard for the selected organisation.
What changes when you switch
Your active organisation determines what you see everywhere in Signplanr:
- Dashboard shows events for the active organisation only.
- Events, signs, and maps belong to the active organisation.
- Members shows the team for the active organisation.
- Settings (sign types, organisation details) are scoped to the active organisation.
- Billing shows the plan and usage for the active organisation.
Your personal account settings (name, email, password) stay the same across all organisations.
Your role can differ between organisations. You might be an Owner in one org and a Member in another. Permissions follow your role in the active organisation.
Adding a new organisation
To create a second organisation, go to Settings in the sidebar and select Create organisation. Follow the same steps as creating your first organisation. Once you belong to more than one, the org switcher appears at the top of the sidebar so you can move between them.
