Event Settings and Workflows

Configure workflow types, assignment modes, and other event-level settings.

Each event has its own settings that control how sign work flows through your team. You choose a workflow type and an assignment mode when you create the event, and you can adjust both later from event settings.

Accessing event settings

  1. Open the event from the Dashboard.
  2. Click Settings in the event navigation bar.

Workflow types

The workflow type determines how sign statuses are tracked and whether organiser approval is required before a sign is considered done.

Simple

Signs move directly from "not started" to "installed" when a contractor marks them complete. There is no review step. This works well for straightforward jobs where you trust the field team to self-manage.

Approval

Contractors mark signs as installed, but the sign stays in a "pending approval" state until an organiser reviews the work and approves or rejects it. Rejected signs go back to the contractor with a reason, and they can resubmit. Use this when you need to verify photo evidence before accepting an installation.

Multi-stage

Signs pass through multiple defined stages (e.g. delivered, positioned, installed, verified). Each stage must be completed in order. This suits complex installations where different teams handle different phases of the work.

Assignment modes

The assignment mode controls which signs a contractor can see.

| Mode | Behaviour | |------|-----------| | All | Every contractor on the event sees every sign. Suitable for small teams where everyone works on everything. | | Assigned | Each contractor only sees signs explicitly assigned to them. Use this for larger events where you split work across crews or zones. |

In both modes, the organiser always sees all signs.

You can switch between all and assigned mode after creating the event. Existing assignments are preserved when you switch to assigned — unassigned signs simply become hidden from contractors until you assign them.

Changing settings after creation

You can update the workflow type, assignment mode, event name, dates, and description at any time from the Settings page. Changes take effect immediately. If you switch workflow type on an active event, existing sign statuses are mapped to the closest equivalent in the new workflow.
