Uploading PDF Maps
Upload PDF site plans — multi-page PDFs offer each page as a separate map.

Many venue site plans and layouts come as PDF files. Signplanr converts PDF uploads into image maps automatically, so you can place signs on them just like any other map.
How PDF conversion works
When you upload a PDF, Signplanr renders each page as a high-resolution image. If the PDF has multiple pages, you choose which pages to import — each selected page becomes its own map.
How to upload a PDF map
- Open your event and click the Maps tab.
- Click Add Map.
- Select Image Map as the map type.
- Click Choose File and select a PDF from your computer.
- Signplanr processes the PDF. If it contains multiple pages, you see a page picker showing a thumbnail of each page.
- Select the pages you want to import. Each page becomes a separate map.
- Enter a Map Name for each selected page (e.g. "Level 1", "Level 2").
- Click Upload.
The converted maps appear in your Maps tab ready for sign placement.
PDF conversion happens on the server and usually takes a few seconds. Large or complex PDFs may take slightly longer.
Tips for best results
- Use vector PDFs when possible. They produce sharper images at all zoom levels compared to scanned documents.
- Keep file size reasonable. Very large PDFs (50+ MB) may take longer to process.
- One page per map. Signplanr treats each page as a standalone map, so you can manage them independently.
After uploading
Each converted page works exactly like an uploaded image map. You can rename maps, place signs, and manage them from the Maps tab.
