Uploading Image Maps

Upload PNG or JPEG site plans as image maps for your event.

Image maps let you upload a site plan, venue layout, or diagram and place signs directly on top of it. This is the fastest way to give contractors a visual guide to where each sign goes.

Supported formats

Signplanr accepts PNG and JPEG image files. For best results use a high-resolution image so details stay sharp when you zoom in.

If your site plan is in PDF format, see Uploading PDF Maps instead — Signplanr converts each page into a separate image map automatically.

How to upload an image map

  1. Open your event and click the Maps tab.
  2. Click Add Map.
  3. Select Image Map as the map type.
  4. Click Choose File and select a PNG or JPEG from your computer.
  5. Enter a Map Name (e.g. "Ground Floor" or "Main Entrance"). A clear name helps contractors find the right map quickly.
  6. Click Upload.

The image appears in the map editor. You can now pan and zoom around it, and start placing signs.

After uploading

  • Pan and zoom to verify the image looks correct at different zoom levels.
  • Rename the map at any time from the Maps tab if the name needs updating.
  • Replace the image by deleting the map and uploading a new one. Sign placements on the deleted map are removed, so you will need to re-place them.
