Artwork Versioning
Old artwork versions are retained when you upload a replacement.

When you replace a sign's artwork, Signplanr does not delete the old file. Every previous version is retained automatically, giving you a full history of design changes for each sign.
How versioning works
- You upload artwork to a sign — this becomes Version 1.
- Later, you click Replace and upload an updated design — this becomes Version 2 and is now the current artwork.
- Version 1 is kept in storage and remains accessible from the version history.
There is no limit to the number of versions. Each replacement creates a new version.
Viewing previous versions
- Open the sign detail page.
- In the Artwork section, click Version History.
- You see a list of all versions with timestamps and the name of the user who uploaded each one.
- Click any version to preview it at full size.
The current version is always shown at the top and is marked with a Current badge.
Artwork versions are part of your organisation's storage usage. If you need to free up space, consider whether old versions are still needed before upgrading your plan.
Why versioning matters
- Audit trail — you can trace exactly which design was active at any point in time. If a sign was installed with the wrong artwork, you can identify when the change happened and who uploaded it.
- Easy rollback — if a new design has issues, you still have the previous version on hand for reference.
- Client accountability — when working with external clients, version history shows that you installed the artwork they approved.
