Customer Data in Exports

Exactly which customer fields appear in CSV, PDF, and map exports — and which never leave the app.

When you export sign data, the customer organisation name is included — but contact details and billing address are not. This page is the explicit list so there are no surprises.

What appears in exports

The customer's name appears in:

  • CSV exports — as a Customer column, populated on every row for that event.
  • Sign report PDFs — in the report title alongside the event name.
  • Single-sign PDFs — in the page header alongside the event name.
  • Map PDFs — in the cover page block and in the footer of every page.

If the event has no customer linked, none of these include a customer field at all.

What is never included in exports

The following fields are never written to any export, regardless of who runs it:

  • Contact name
  • Contact email
  • Contact phone
  • Billing address
  • Internal notes

These stay inside the Signplanr app, visible only to your org's admins and owners. If you need to share contact information with a client or contractor, do it outside of the export — Signplanr deliberately doesn't leak it through a download.

Why this matters

Exports often get forwarded to contractors, printers, or third-party teams. A spreadsheet with a customer's billing address on it is the kind of thing that ends up in a shared drive or an email thread you can't claw back. By keeping the export to the organisation name only, Signplanr makes it safe to share reports without thinking about which fields you've left in.

If you ever need to confirm what's in a given export, open the file — the column list (CSV) or header block (PDF) is the source of truth.
