Generating QR Codes
Signplanr auto-generates a unique QR code for every sign.
Every sign in Signplanr gets a unique QR code automatically. Contractors scan the code on-site to jump straight to the sign's detail page without searching or scrolling.
How QR codes are generated
When you create a sign, Signplanr generates a QR code for it instantly. There is no manual step — every sign has a QR code from the moment it exists.
Each QR code links to the sign's detail page. When someone scans the code, they are taken through an authentication gate: if they are already logged in and have access to the event, the sign detail page opens immediately. If not, they are prompted to log in first.
Viewing a sign's QR code
- Open your event and go to the Signs tab.
- Click a sign to open its detail page.
- The QR code appears in the QR Code section of the sign detail.

What the QR code links to
The QR code URL points to the sign's detail page within Signplanr. The link includes an authentication gate, so:
- Logged-in contractors with access to the event land on the sign detail page immediately.
- Users who are not logged in see the login screen first and are redirected to the sign after authenticating.
- Users without event access see a message explaining they do not have permission.
