Answering Survey Questions
How contractors answer structured survey questions in the mobile app, with autosave, offline support, and a submit checklist.
Some surveys ask you for specific information as well as photos — things like measurements, counts, or yes/no checks. These structured questions appear right inside the survey screen, and the app guides you to make sure everything's complete before you submit.
Where the questions appear
When a survey has structured questions, they show up in the survey screen below the existing photos and notes. Scroll down past the photo and notes sections to find them, and answer each one inline.
Answering questions
- Tap or type to answer each question.
- Conditional questions show or hide automatically as your answers change — if a question disappears, it simply doesn't apply based on what you entered.
- Your answers save automatically as you go, so there's nothing extra to tap to keep your work.
You can answer questions fully offline. Everything you enter is stored on your device and syncs automatically when your connection returns.
The submit checklist
Before you can submit, the app shows a checklist of anything still outstanding. This can include:
- Required questions that you haven't answered yet.
- Photo requirements set on the survey's sign type — for example, a minimum number of photos, and/or annotating at least one photo.
The Submit button stays disabled until the checklist is clear. Work through each item, and once everything's satisfied you'll be able to submit.
