Approving an Install

Sign off on a finished installation, or send it back with a reason if something needs fixing.

Once a sign has been marked installed, it comes to you for sign-off. You can approve it, or reject it with a reason so the installer knows exactly what to come back and fix.

Availability

Customer install approval is part of the customer portal, included on the Business and Enterprise plans.

This works on any sign you are linked to — the design phase does not have to be switched on. Even if a sign was created by the organiser rather than requested by you, you can still sign off on the install once you are linked to it.

Approving

  1. Open the sign in the app.
  2. Check the installer's photos and the sign details.
  3. Tap Approve install.

The sign moves to Approved and the organiser sees your sign-off against the sign.

Rejecting

  1. Open the sign and tap Reject install.
  2. In the panel that opens — "Tell the installer what needs fixing. They'll see this on the sign." — type what is wrong.
  3. Tap Reject install to confirm.

The reason must be at least 10 characters; the panel counts as you type. The installer sees your note on the sign and can fix it and resubmit.

Useful rejection reasons are the specific ones:

  • "Sign is 300mm too far left — it needs to sit centred over the door."
  • "Mounted crooked, the top edge is not level."
  • "Wrong sign for this door — this is the Level 2 plate."

Changing your mind

If you approved a sign by accident, you can move it back with Reopen install, then approve or reject it properly.

Adding to the record

Before or after you decide you can add your own photos and comments to the sign. A photo of the problem alongside a rejection usually saves a phone call.

Photos, comments and status changes queue up if you lose signal and sync when you are back online — so you can still work a site with poor reception. Only new sign requests and artwork review need a live connection.
