After reviewing a completed survey, you can convert it into a sign record in the same event. This creates a new sign with the survey's photos attached as reference documents.
Steps
- Open a survey that has been reviewed (or is in any non-converted state).
- Click Convert to Sign.
- In the conversion dialog:
- Sign name is pre-filled with the survey name. You can edit it.
- Select a Sign type from your organisation's sign type library (optional).
- Add an optional Description.
- Click Convert.
What gets copied
- All survey photos (both reference and field photos, including annotations) are duplicated into the sign's reference documents.
- Photo files are copied to the signs storage bucket — this creates new storage charges.
- The survey is marked as converted and linked to the new sign.
What doesn't get copied
- Survey comments are not carried over.
- Survey status history is not carried over.
- The contractor assignment is not carried over to the sign.
After conversion
- The survey detail page shows a "Converted to sign" badge with a link to the new sign.
- The sign detail page shows a "Created from survey" badge with a link back to the source survey.
- A survey can only be converted once.
If you want to reclaim storage space after conversion, you can delete the original survey. The sign's reference documents are independent copies.
