Setting a Survey's Position on Site

As a contractor, move a survey's pin to its real location — by dragging it or using your current GPS position.

Sometimes the exact spot for a survey is only clear once you're standing there. When your organiser turns this on, you can set or correct a survey's position right from the map in the app — either by dragging the pin or by dropping it on your current GPS location.

This is only available when the organiser has enabled contractor positioning for the event. If you don't see the options below, positions are managed by the organiser for that event.

Open the survey on the map

  1. Open the event and go to its map.
  2. Tap the survey's pin. An action sheet slides up with the survey's actions.

Move the pin

Tap Move pin. The map enters move mode with a banner at the bottom:

  • On an image map (site plan): "Drag the pin to reposition it."
  • On a geo map: "Drag the pin to its location, then release."

Drag the pin where it belongs and let go — the new position saves automatically. Tap Cancel to leave move mode without changing anything.

Use your current location (geo maps)

On a geo map you'll also see Use my current location. Tap it to drop the pin on your device's current GPS position — handy when you're standing exactly where the sign goes. Your device will ask for location permission the first time.
