How do I create an organisation?

After signing up, Signplanr prompts you to create your organisation. Enter a name and you're ready to go.

What's the difference between owner, admin, and member?

Owners have full control including billing. Admins can manage everything except billing and org deletion. Members can create and manage events.

Can I belong to more than one organisation?

Yes. Use the org switcher in the sidebar to move between organisations.

Is Signplanr free to use?

Yes. The Free tier includes 1 event, 10 signs, and 1 GB of storage. Paid plans unlock more capacity.

Events

What's the difference between workflow modes?

Simple: contractors update statuses directly. Approval: organisers must approve. Multi-stage: signs move through multiple stages.

What does "assignment mode" mean?

All: every contractor sees every sign. Assigned: contractors only see signs specifically assigned to them.

Can I duplicate an event?

Yes. Duplication copies maps, signs, sign types, and reference documents. Contractors and photos are not copied.

What happens when I archive an event?

Archived events become read-only. All data is preserved but no changes can be made. Archived events cannot be reopened.

Can I reopen a completed event?

Yes. Completed events can be moved back to active status. Archived events cannot.

Signs

How many photos can I upload per sign?

Up to 8 photos per sign — 1 main photo and up to 7 additional angles.

What is a sign type?

A reusable template with custom fields. Create sign types at the organisation level and reuse them across events.

Can I import signs from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Use the bulk CSV import feature to upload multiple signs at once with column mapping and validation.

What file formats are supported for artwork?

JPEG, PNG, PDF, SVG, and WebP. Maximum file size is 20 MB.

Signs with two faces (front and back), each with independent artwork, instructions, photos, and status tracking.

What map types does Signplanr support?

Image maps (PNG/JPEG site plans), PDF maps (converted to images), and geo maps (satellite/street view via Mapbox).

Can I have multiple maps per event?

Yes. Add as many maps as you need and mix image, PDF, and geo map types.

What happens with a multi-page PDF?

Each page is offered as a separate map. You can select which pages to import.

Contractors

How do I invite a contractor?

Go to the Contractors tab in your event and send an email invitation, or share an access code link.

What happens when I revoke an access code?

Revoking an access code prevents new contractors from joining. Existing contractors who already joined retain access.

Can multiple contractors be assigned to the same sign?

Yes. You can assign multiple contractors to a single sign.

How long do contractor invitations last?

Email invitations expire after 14 days. You can resend or revoke them at any time.

Contractor App

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Sign data, maps, and reference documents are cached. Photos and status changes sync automatically when you reconnect.

How do I install the app on my phone?

On iOS: Safari > Share > Add to Home Screen. On Android: Chrome > menu > Install app.

What do I do if my photo is rejected?

Check the rejection notes from the organiser, correct the issue, and resubmit a new photo.

Can I add comments to a sign?

Yes. Open the sign detail and add a comment. The organiser will see it in the comment thread.

How are QR codes generated?

Signplanr auto-generates a unique QR code for every sign. No manual step is needed.

Account

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Click Forgot Password on the login page, enter your email, and follow the reset link.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Go to Account Settings and click Delete Account. This is permanent.

How do I change my email address?

Go to Account Settings and update your email. You may need to re-verify the new address.

Billing

How does storage overage work?

If you exceed your plan's storage limit, overage is billed at $3/GB/mo for paid plans.

Yes. Annual billing saves approximately 17% compared to monthly billing.

What happens if I cancel?

Your data is preserved read-only. You can't create new content but nothing is deleted. You can reactivate any time.

What happens if my payment fails?

Signplanr sends graduated notifications. If payment isn't resolved, your org is eventually soft-downgraded to the Free tier.
